In a heartwarming viral video, a Georgia woman named Crystal stumbled upon a litter of stray kittens nestled in a tree in her backyard. The discovery sparked an outpouring of amused and bewildered responses from TikTok users who couldn’t fathom how a tree could produce kittens.
Crystal had been feeding a stray cat for some time, and one day a neighbor witnessed the mother cat moving her newborn kittens to the tree. “I had been looking for them for a while and finally found them,” Crystal told Newsweek.
The TikTok video, posted under the handle @mrshappyhomemaker, quickly went viral, racking up over 20.9 million views, 3.5 million likes, and 15,000 comments. Many users expressed their desire to have a kitten-bearing tree in their own yards, joking, “My trees don’t give me money or kittens. I want trees that give me kittens!!”
Though the mother cat and three of the kittens were doing well, one kitten was born with deformed front legs and would require additional care. Crystal said she was considering keeping the disabled kitten, but was unsure if she had the space, as she is a widow with three kids and a small farm, and already has three cats.
According to Fuzzy Rescue, a pet-care resource, cats typically have kittens between 6 months and 5 years old, with the optimal age being around 2-3 years old. The discovery of the tree-dwelling kittens left many TikTok users enchanted and amused, sparking a flood of humorous comments and reactions.
