Rescued a dog who was shunned because of bowed legs

This puppy was perhaps four or five months old. Her legs were bowed, and people avoided her. She was living in a field, fed and kept alive by kind individuals until volunteers from the Sheremetyevo Dog Shelter found her.

They immediately took her to the vet, unsure of what challenges they would face. After consulting the doctor, the vets who specialize in wheelchairs sometimes recommend amputation. But the volunteers were determined not to give up easily and couldn’t just let her die.

While waiting for treatment, the puppy savored her meal, curious despite her shyness. She was still a puppy and needed care. They named her Kissmi, and she loved giving hugs and kisses, sensing the attention and love from others, something she may have never experienced before.

The treatment journey of a resilient dog

At first, Kissmi was afraid of the chiropractor and wanted to flee, but she soon realized the doctor was there to help her. With the doctor’s guidance and the volunteers’ dedication at home, Kissmi’s legs gradually improved. She underwent massage therapy, vitamin injections, and a custom-made splint, all of which were a struggle but worth the time and effort.

The day Kissmi ran for the first time in her life was filled with joy and excitement. She has become more beautiful and healthy every day, intelligent and quick to learn. She has been given a brand new life, supported by her loving caretakers.

This heartwarming story is a testament to the power of compassion and perseverance. Kissmi’s journey shows how a little bit of kindness can transform the life of a vulnerable animal in need.
