Dog rescuer Rocky Kanaka was shocked when he saw the condition of this Great Dane named Scooby. Scooby is nothing but skin and bones, a walking disaster that owes everything to his previous owners.

A Look at the Reasons Behind Scooby’s Plight

Scooby had spent time going back and forth between the shelter after being rejected by his family. The reason? The kids were not interested in feeding him. This left deep scars on Scooby, both physically and emotionally.

Great Danes are known to be majestic, giant-sized dogs with robust figures and big hearts. Scooby was no exception – he was a kind, gentle soul. But his owners had given up on him simply because the children wouldn’t take care of feeding such a large dog.

Rumors suggest Scooby’s previous owner had threatened to surrender him if the kids didn’t feed him. Perhaps the family struggled with the cost and effort required to properly care for a Great Dane. Medical records also showed Scooby had a history of digestive issues.

Regardless of the reasons, Scooby’s emaciated condition was unacceptable. When Rocky approached the dog, he could feel every single bone protruding. Scooby looked more like a Great Dane mix than the usual robust breed.

Rocky and his sponsors strive to help Scooby heal his wounds

But Rocky, known for his effective resocialization techniques, went to work. He slowly gained Scooby’s trust through treats, praise, and gentle affection. In no time, the once-timid dog was wagging his tail excitedly, happy to see his newfound friend.

Thanks to Rocky and the support of sponsors who agreed to donate a year’s worth of food, Scooby began putting on weight and regaining his health. The change in the dog was remarkable – both physically and behaviorally.

Now, Scooby is eagerly waiting to find his forever home, where he can be showered with the love and care he deserves. After all he’s been through, this sweet soul just needs a dedicated “Shaggy” to call his own.
