When experienced veterinarian Dr. Karri at the Vet Ranch animal clinic encountered Violet, a small puppy covered in bite marks and sporting purple fur, she was deeply troubled. According to Violet’s owner, a larger dog had mauled the puppy, and the owner had brought her in to be euthanized.

It is said that many “bait dogs” used to train fighting dogs often have purple fur, a result of the purple wound spray applied after they are attacked. In Violet’s case, the purple fur was indeed a consequence of the mauling, but her wounds had been left to fester for weeks due to a lack of proper medical care, bringing her close to death.

The puppy’s positive transformation is thanks to dedicated treatment and care

Dr. Karri documented Violet’s arduous recovery process in a compelling video. The veterinarian meticulously treated Violet’s multiple infections and abscesses, administering powerful painkillers and medications. After 12 days of dedicated care, Violet finally emerged from the critical septic stage.

The transformation was remarkable. Violet’s initial despondent and forlorn demeanor gave way to pure joy, and she could barely contain her gratitude when snuggled in Dr. Karri’s arms.

As soon as Violet fully recovered, she was adopted. She now lives with her new mother, Kelly, and an equally sized Jack Russell sibling, Peanut. Dr. Karri’s tireless efforts had saved Violet’s life, and the heartwarming video serves as a testament to her skill and compassion as a veterinarian.
