The friendly dog’s swollen belly raises concerns

When kind-hearted people heard about a dog with an unusually large belly roaming around a town, they went to investigate. The friendly dog seemed to be getting along well with the other dogs in the area, and the locals assumed he was a pregnant female dog, often feeding him.

A woman who had been feeding the dog, named Bangwool, told the rescuers that she and her husband had met him two years ago, when he was healthy and his belly was not swollen. Although Bangwool appreciated the woman’s kindness, he seemed sad and would leave quickly after eating.

Determined to uncover Bangwool’s story, the curious rescuers followed him as he wandered. They discovered he would go to an unoccupied house, which had been his home before his owner passed away. Bangwool would visit the house every day, hoping to find his beloved owner.

Vet Exam Reveals Surprising Cause of Dog’s Big Belly

The rescuers called for help to capture Bangwool, and with the assistance of the woman who had been caring for him, they were able to bring him to a veterinary clinic for a checkup. The vet determined that Bangwool did not have a tumor, but rather an inherited heart condition and a heartworm infection. The fluid buildup in his abdomen was caused by his inability to properly pump blood to his heart.

After the vet treated Bangwool’s condition, removing the fluid from his belly, he began to look and feel much better. The kind couple who had been caring for him decided to give Bangwool a loving forever home. Filled with happiness, Bangwool looked forward to starting his new life with his new family.
