The stray cat finally found its way into a safe shelter
Tony, a long-term stray cat, arrived at the Catcuddles London Cat Sanctuary just a week ago. It had taken a kind-hearted member of the public some time to gain Tony’s trust and eventually get him into a carrier to bring him to the sanctuary.
Upon examination, the veterinarian found that Tony was unneutered and in need of a dental extraction, but otherwise in good health. He was then placed in a cozy garden suite at the Abbey Wood rehoming hub, where he could enjoy the comforts of a warm, dry space with regular meals.
Tony discovered the comfort of a blanket donated by shelter staff
Today, the staff at Catcuddles provided Tony with a blanket. At first, he was wary of it and hissed, but after cautiously sniffing it, he recognized what it was. Tony then spent a long time kneading, digging, and arranging the blanket before nestling into it and falling asleep, purring contentedly. This was likely the first time in years that Tony had the luxury of a blanket to call his own, after enduring an unknown period of living on the streets.
Despite the challenges of the current lockdown, the staff at Catcuddles are confident that Tony, who is very tolerant of human company, will not be with them for long before finding a loving forever home. The heartwarming sight of Tony finally experiencing the comfort of a blanket after his difficult past is a testament to the sanctuary’s dedication to rescuing and caring for stray and abandoned cats.
