It was supposed to be a regular night for Jen Edmondson, a woman living in southeastern Texas. As she went outside, she walked past her mailbox and spotted two big black eyes peeking from the nearby bushes.

A woman discovered and took dedicated care of a stray dog

Initially confused, Jen decided to step closer, and there he was – a cute white dog practically begging for help through his kind gaze. The dog was clearly lost, but his calm and tender demeanor suggested he once had a family. Jen immediately took a video of him and posted it on social media, inquiring about his potential owners.

“Found him alone and wandering. Turns out he’s super sweet, but no one has claimed him. So we’re fostering him with a local rescue organization,” Jen wrote on her TikTok account.

It turned out many locals had seen the dog roaming the streets, but no one knew if he belonged to someone. So Jen decided to take him in as a temporary foster.

After a vet checkup, it was determined the dog was a 2-year-old Great Pyrenees. The vet suggested Jen continue fostering him through Columbus Rescue Dogs. And even though it was meant to be temporary, Jen found herself slowly falling in love with the dog, whom she named Gibbous.

“If I’m being honest, I’m falling in love! He is the sweetest dog and he’s always smiling at me! So we’re getting pretty close to a foster fail here. I’m too vested in this sweet, happy gentle giant,” Jen wrote.

The kind woman decided to give the stray dog a family with lots of love

True to her words, after a few months of fostering and preparing Gibbous for potential adopters, Jen made the decision to adopt him permanently. She couldn’t bear the idea of not being around him anymore, and since no one else claimed this gorgeous gentle giant, she was more than happy to keep him.

Gibbous seemed to enjoy his new home immensely. He loves car rides, long walks, and frolicking around with his new mom. Although he can be a bit stubborn at times, he always gets away with it thanks to his adorable smile.

“Life is good for this rescue foster Gibbous. He’s sooooo good at car rides, outdoor dining, loving people,” says his proud new mom.

We’re delighted to see Gibbous happy in his forever home, and wish him and Jen a long, joyful life together. You can follow their adventures on TikTok and Instagram.
